Job Description
PWC's Financial Services Tax practice is expanding and experiencing strong growth. A substantial area of growth lies in its Fin-Tech (Finance Technology) Tax practice, which is principally based in The San Francisco Bay Area. The rise of the Fin-Tech industry has created new opportunities for emerging companies and existing incumbents to leverage new technologies, partner with new market entrants and drive efficiencies. Examples include peer-to-peer lending

payment technology and clearing and settlements solutions which result in better, more customer focused solutions at lower costs. This is a unique and exciting area of tax, affording tremendous career growth opportunities.

Position/Program Requirements
Minimum Year(s) of Experience: 3


Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor's degree in Accounting provided all of the minimum requirements are met for CPA licensure per respective state regulations.


Certification(s) Required: CPA


or commitment to pass CPA exam before being promoted to Manager and thereafter obtain CPA licensure, Enrolled Agent or Member of the Bar.


Degree Preferred: Master's degree in Accounting or Tax.


Knowledge Preferred:

Demonstrates extensive knowledge and/or a proven record of success in the following areas:

- Tax compliance and consulting services for the Fin-Tech industry banks, or other financial service entities; and,

- Tax research methods including but not limited to Westlaw, RIA and CCH.


Skills Preferred:

Demonstrates extensive abilities and/or a proven record of success in the following areas:

- Providing tax services in the Financial Services sector and producing and reviewing corporate tax returns;

- Utilizing ASC 740 and FIN 48, tax provision preparation techniques, and audit and review knowledge for corporations;

- Participating actively in client discussions and meetings;

- Communicating a broad range of Firm services;

- Managing engagements including preparing concise, accurate documents and balancing project economics management with the occurrence of unanticipated issues;

- Creating a positive environment by monitoring workloads of the team while meeting client expectations and respecting the work-life quality of team members;

- Providing candid, meaningful feedback in a timely manner; and,

- Keeping leadership informed of progress and issues.
