Systems Controls Technician

**Primary Duties and Responsibilities:**

+ Meeting with both client and internal project teams to define applications and produce functional specification documents

+ Performing component selection and bill of material preparation

+ Customizing standard products to meet the requirements of each project.

+ Writing interfaces to devices such as network I/O, variable speed drives, camera and laser scanner ID systems and scales.

+ Conducting in-house preliminary testing and onsite testing of the system as installed.

+ Interacting with mechanical engineering, control panel modification, and electrical installation personnel

+ Providing maintenance training and support

+ Generating project specific documentation using standard formats.

+ Assisting in design reviews with project teams

+ Providing continuing support for finished projects

+ Overseeing the installation of new systems.


**What youll need**

As a Systems Controls Technician, you must be self-motivated and dedicated with a strong sense of initiative and the ability to easily adapt to changing situations. You must also have strong technical, electrical/mechanical and team leadership skills as well as solid organizational, time-management and prioritization skills. It is also important for you to have excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with a wide range of people at all levels of expertise.

**Specific qualifications for the Controls Engineer position include:**

+ **ASEE, EET degree** or equivalent

+ 2-5 years experience in Industrial Automation

+ AutoCAD Electrical and Mechanical knowledge and understanding

+ Ability to read and interrupt drawings for lead of field installation.

+ Experience with the following:

+ Control Systems Engineering/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering

+ 3-Phase power and electrical circuits

+ Low Voltage 24VDC Power and Electrical Circuits

+ Basic understanding of the laws of conveyance.

+ Communication Networking, specifically ethernet/IP.

+ Excellent client follow-through skills

+ Ability to work effectively in a warehouse environment for system testing, including climbing ladders and moving around on platforms to maneuver in and around equipment

+ Flexibility to travel around the country, often via air

+ Job will require 35-60% travel
