Job Summary | You must be a current UK student to apply for this position. 1. Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with their shopping needs, answering customer inquiries, and resolving customer complaints. 2. Complete customer transactions on the cash register at Pick-Up and Drive-Thru areas. 3. Ensure the appearance of the store is pleasing to the customer and meets the requirements of the company. This includes housekeeping tasks such as but not limited to dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, facing merchandise, reviewing front end merchandise for out dated or soon to be outdated products, etc. 4. Stock front end and pharmacy shelves with merchandise. 5. Assist with price changes for front end merchandise. 6. Ensure prompt service by assisting customers quickly at the Drop-Off, Drive-Thru and Pick-Up areas. 7. Accept customer and prescription information needed to process prescription information in computer system. 8. Answer incoming phone calls quickly and assist with customer needs. 9. Accept new prescriptions and refill authorizations from doctor’s offices as permitted by state and federal law. 10. Provide consultations for prescription medication as permitted by state and federal law. 11. Provide OTC recommendations to customers as permitted by state and federal law. 12. Input customer and prescription information into computer system, adjudicate claims and print prescription labels. 13. Retrieve appropriate medication, count, label and stage prescriptions to be verified by pharmacist. 14. Reconstitute oral liquids and combine medications as permitted by state and federal laws. 15. Complete all necessary paperwork related to filling of prescriptions. 16. Maintain the cleanliness of the pharmacy department. This includes but is not limited to dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, trash removal, prescription vial/lid/liquid bottle replenishment, review prescription medications for expired and/or soon to be expired products, etc. 17. Clean all other areas (i.e., restroom, break-room, storage room) of store as deemed necessary by owner. 18. Delivery of medication to customer’s home and/or workplace. |
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities | Qualification Requirements: To perform this job successfully, the employee must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required. Currently enrolled in an accredited school of Pharmacy. Also requires training provided by company. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in a one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees. Ability to read, write and speak English fluently. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. o Minimum age of 18 years. o Ability to pass drug test and background checks. o Committed to providing superior service that makes customers feel welcome, important and appreciated. o Ability to preserve confidentiality of information. o Ability and willingness to move with purpose and a strong sense of urgency. o Ability to work weekends. o Ability to work extended days when necessary. o Ability to work day or evening hours. o Exemplify accuracy and attention to detail. o Ability to organize and prioritize a variety of tasks/projects. o Familiarity with industry/technical terms and processes. o Ability to work within strict time frames and resolute deadlines. o Excellent customer service skills. o Knowledge of brand and generic drugs by name. o Knowledge of OTC products and their uses. This position requires the following: o Pharmacy Intern registration as required by state or federal law. The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is: o Regularly required to do the following activities: o Stand statically for long periods of time without a break. o Walk about. o Talk and hear; verbally express ideas and impart information or instructions. o Use of hands to finger, handle, and/or feel; the ability to type, pick, pinch with fingers, seize, hold, grasp or turn with hands and perceive attributes of objects and materials, such as size, shape, temperature, or texture, by touching with fingertips. o Maintain balance while walking, standing, crouching or running. o Twist upper torso. o Reach up and out with hands and arms. o Frequently required to do the following activities: o Stand dynamically for long periods of time without a break. o Lift and push/pull up to twenty (20) pounds. o Occasionally required to do the following: o Stoop, kneel, crouch and/or crawl. o Recognize flavors or odors and distinguish differences or similarities in intensity or quality of flavors or odors. o Specific vision abilities required for this job include: o Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less). o Color vision and the ability to identify and distinguish colors. o Adjustable focus. |
