Required Education | To be eligible for this position, you must meet the following criteria: be currently enrolled in an accredited school of nursing; have satisfactorily completed the Junior year of a BSN program OR the 1st year of an ADN program; and have a 2.75 minimum nursing course GPA AND a 2.75 cumulative GPA. |
Required Related Experience | To be eligible for this position, you must have satisfactorily completed the Junior year of a BSN program OR the 1st year of an ADN program. |
Required License/Registration/Certification | Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for the Healthcare provider Certification. |
Physical Requirements | The essential functions of this position require you to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 100 pounds on a daily basis; stand, walk, and sit for long periods of time; perform repetitive motions; and effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with patients, caregivers, and staff at all levels. |
Shift | Will work full time hours 36-40 hours/week depending on unit staffing needs. Days/evenings/nights, with some weekends and holidays. MUST BE FLEXIBLE and prepared to work preceptor’s schedule. |
Job Summary | The University of Kentucky HealthCare (UKHC) Enterprise is seeking applicants for the position of Student Nurse Academic Practicum (SNAP). This is a paid 10-week clinical practicum to be completed from May 2021 to August 2021. |
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities | The ideal candidate must have demonstrated critical thinking skills and must maintain a professional appearance and attitude in the clinical setting. Additionally, the hired candidate must complete 300 hours within the 10 week time period to receive 3 credit hours. |

Preferred Education/Experience | GPA of 3.0 or higher for Nursing and Cumulative preferred. |
