Job Summary

You must be a current UK student to apply to this position.

Assist young adult with special needs (Down syndrome) in his outings in the community. Assist him in grocery shopping, visiting his favorite milkshake restaurants and visiting Gattitown and Malibu Jacks, as well as assisting him in possible volunteer activities at a nursing home.

Hours are from about 3:15 PM to 5:30 PM Monday thru Thursday.

Applicant would pick him up from his day program at around 3:15 in the afternoon. He would go home for a bit to possibly eat a snack. Then he would go on an outing in the community.
One day a week he would go to the grocery to purchase his food. Some days he would visit Gattitown or Malibu Jacks. He also likes to visit the mall for a walk and visit Chick Fil A in the food court. We are investigating a volunteer opportunity for him at a nursing home as well.

He is a friendly, outgoing young man and loves people. He responds best to positive, outgoing people.

Hourly rate is about $15/hour. Applicant is required to complete online training and a one day class.

Based on applicants schedule, we would consider someone who is available 2 -4 days during the week, and/or possibly one day on the weekend.
