Job Summary | View every patient and staff or faculty as a customer. Maintain a high level of professionalism in interactions, working with integrity to present ourselves in a manner that promotes trust and confidence. Be flexible, courteous and respectful, anticipating and fulfilling the needs of others. Listen carefully, ask questions and respect the privacy of our patients, faculty and staff. Provide care in support of our goal to be a preferred patient care provider. Perform patient intake by initiating documentation of the patient’s chief complaint, history of present illness, review of systems and all pertinent findings accurately in the electronic medical record in accordance with compliance guidelines. Perform all STANDARD preliminary vision testing and demonstrate proficiency in basic ophthalmic pretesting. Administer topical and oral medications at the direction of the physician. Provide patient with education regarding surgery, medications, tests, procedures and treatments as directed by the physician. Follow all safety procedures per protocol guidelines. Acquire working knowledge of any new equipment and procedures as developed for the various subspecialties. Inventory, clean and stock rooms between patients and during downtime to ensure appropriate supplies, medications and equipment is readily available for physician and patient. |
