Physical Requirements

The physical requirements of this position include: occasional lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects up to 50lbs; occasional standing or walking with objects up to 25lbs; intermittent sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time with regular repetitive motions (such as typing); occasional exposure to radiation, and blood borne/airborne pathogens.

Job Summary

The Communicable Disease Tech (CDT) will work under the direction of the Enterprise Manager of Infection Prevention and Control to assist and promote the processes involving materials management distribution during all hours (PPE and swabbing), fit testing at all hours, hand hygiene and isolation auditing, and reporting for COVID-19 at UK Healthcare. These individuals will work with a team to support our safety efforts in alignment with the latest CDC, CMS and Department of Health guidelines. The ideal candidate can solve problems in a fast-paced environment, keep well-organized records, and perform basic health care procedures. The Communicable Disease Tech (CDT) will be an individual with a positive attitude and outstanding customer service. The goal is to stop infection from spreading, improve staff and visitor education, continue time sensitive reporting for compliance requirements, and enhance high quality patient care.
