The Strategic Business Development (\"SBD\") team helps lead the charge, working with business partners to both develop and execute THD’s corporate strategy.

SBD leads and facilitates THD’s continuous strategic planning efforts to identify the most critical focus areas for the next 1-5 years and, based on those focus areas, works with business leaders to determine the optimal mix of tactics to advance that strategy. With the strategy defined, SBD heavily supports key organic growth initiatives (via research, planning, and implementation) and oversees all aspects of inorganic growth (i.e., partnership development, corporate investment, mergers and acquisitions). As part of SBD, team members will deepen their knowledge of retail generally and home improvement specifically, investigate emerging technologies influencing retail, and explore various retail functional strategies (customer in-store and online experience, merchandising, pricing, delivery, marketing, etc.).

The Sr. Analyst role is a key member of the SBD team. The Sr. Analyst takes ownership of and drives the research, financial modeling and valuation, materials creation, and project management that are critical to defining and executing THD’s strategy. In this role, the Sr. Analyst receives exposure to the whole THD business and has the opportunity to affect change from within one of the world’s leading retailers.
MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Support annual strategic planning process: Assist business leaders in the development and communication of specific operational/merchandising initiatives that will drive the overall corporate strategy
• Provide market and competitive business intelligence: Monitor and assess macro trends in the home improvement marketplace; and maintain competitive overviews using publicly available information
• Conduct ad hoc analysis and provide recommendations on a wide variety of strategic business decisions important to the Executive Leadership Team; examples include: Acquisitions or divestitures, Benchmarking (intra and inter-company), Operational decisions across the company (Merchandising, Marketing, Supply Chain, E-commerceNATURE AND SCOPE
