ADP is hiring a Senior Director, Finance. In this role you will provide financial and strategic decision support to the Workforce Management and PI consolidated businesses and GPT Investments to ensure achievement of short- and long-term financial goals.  Partnering with management, the Senior Director will facilitate the understanding of key business dynamics including productivity analysis, margin improvement, pricing, and business analysis (such as client retention, loss reporting and quality metrics).  Driving financial best practices, the Senior Director will optimize financial opportunities regarding revenue enhancement and expense management throughout the organization.  In addition, the Senior Director acts as a support function for the operating plan, forecast process, and management reporting/financial close activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Business Partnering

  • Direct support for the GM of Workforce Management and takes on the responsibility of the Finance leader of this consolidated business including (combined currently over $800M of Revenue and $100M in annual sales):
    • Working cross-functionally to create cross-business unit summary P&L reporting including Sales, Revenue, expenses, and operating metrics
    • Creating variance explanations, drivers, and potential opportunities for improvement by working across all Business unit BU and Finance leaders of Workforce Management Products
    • This cross-business unit Product P&L requires the ability to lead in a matrixed environment by building relationships and delivering on global Workforce Management objectives and key results that may differ from individual business unit goals
    • Responsible to drive the Next Gen Workforce Management Business Case.  Includes working with Sales, Product and Business unit leaders to align the business results with Product delivery timelines and build them into the annual operating plans
  • Finance leadership of the GPT NextGen Payroll (PI) business supporting the SVP – Product Development.
    • Develops business cases and recommends financial strategies to ensure the successful global implementation of the cross-business unit next-gen payroll engine.
    • Deliver ongoing P&L tracking of the PI P&L reporting that will provide visibility into the cross-business unit Sales, Revenue and NOI of the payroll business running on PI
    • Creating variance explanations, drivers, and potential opportunities for improvement by working across all Business unit BU and Finance leaders of Workforce Management Products

Business Analysis:  Uses deep understanding of objectives, issues and root causes and provides insightful, fact-based data analysis to help solve complex problems

  • Provides financial and strategic decision support to senior management to ensure achievement of short- and long-term financial goals
  • Assists management in understanding the business dynamics which includes productivity, relationships, model, trends, leading indicators and business statistics

Strategic Planning and InitiativesPartners with business leadership to develop strategies and initiatives to drive growth and margin improvements.  Executes on strategic initiatives such as M&A support, product launches, market entry, and process improvement efforts

  • Develops business cases and recommends financial strategies to ensure business growth/market presence and margin improvement
  • Maintains an awareness of general economic, competitive, business and financial conditions and communicates impact on business operations to key stakeholders

Operating Planning and Forecasting:  Supporting SVP – R&D leaders, creates annual operating plan that is aligned to the strategic plan and performs forecasting to provide visibility into business results to enable business decisions

  • Provides consultative input or business analyses to support operating planning and forecasting

Talent Development and ManagementDeliberately builds capability for short and long term

  • Sets direction, goals and expectations about performance, holds associates accountable for development and provides appropriate feedback
  • Coaches and develops associates, builds diverse team and encourages innovative thinking to identify broad growth opportunities
  • Delegates responsibilities to associates, both to deliver on commitments and to continuously build team members’ capabilities

Management Reporting and Financial Close Activities:  Produces and distributes recurring and ad hoc management reports.  Responsible for financial reporting accuracy; partners with shared services organizations and ensures adequate control environment to mitigate financial and business risks in collaboration with process owners

  • Leverages recurring and ad hoc management reporting to identify trends, build business cases, highlight opportunities and risks, and drive business decision making

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • BS – Finance, Economics, Engineering or equivalent
  • 10+ Years of Experience including 5+ Years People Leadership (direct or indirect)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Preference will be given to candidates who have the following:

  • MBA Finance or MS in Business Analytics or similar degree
  • Graduate of Executive MBA Program
  • Consulting Experience

  • Information Management/Technology Acumen (Advanced): Has solid desktop skills, specifically strong excel skills including the ability to create basic macros; some familiarity with Cognos/Hyperion is preferred.  Experience using Apptio as a technology business management tool preferred. Experience managing technology infrastructure as a service preferred. Learns new technology quickly and is adept at using data to create existing reports.
