Position Description:

Position Purpose

The Senior Manager Operations Process- Labor Analytics, will manage a team of data-centric business analysts and report to the Director of Workforce Operations. Own the hours forecasts for all US stores, with a focus on process improvement & forecast accuracy for the $6B yearly payroll spend. Act as a key contributor in all major decisions by delivering objective measurements for all proposed changes to the labor model. Leverage strong communication and business acumen skills to work cross-functionally with various business partners, including Operations, Finance, IT, and field leaders. Lead, coach, and develop team Business Analysts and Senior Business Analysts, with focus on both weekly tasks and long term objectives. Prepare and deliver insights and recommendations based on analyses. Interpret data based on specific knowledge of statistics and procedures used. Synthesize findings and derive conclusions from analyses and make oral/written recommendations to upper management. Prioritize workload based on business needs, communicate findings & issues/roadblocks related to areas of responsibility. Provide thought leadership and direction for the team based on internal models for issue monitoring and payroll controls. Standardize views and act as ambassador for Labor in and outside of Operations. Lead sustainability efforts, driving accountability for documentation and transparency to further improve understanding of Labor Allocation throughout the organization. Use strategic thinking, networking, and global perspective to see the big picture, determine the problem and understand fundamental parts of the problem. Provide input on strategy based on knowledge of industry and technology trends. Collaborate with business partners to provide intuitive and accretive self-service dashboards to drive desired behaviors and actions across the organization.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

  • 25% Provides direction and strategic planning for associated teams and analysts. Develops and implements changes that improve overall organizational and operational processes that create productivity and efficiency gains, simplifying the business. Is a participative member of organizational leadership, focused on the associates and overall goals of the business.
  • 10% Communicates effectively at all levels and ensures actions and deliverables are completed in an excellent fashion.
  • 25% Manages, drives and delivers core operational projects focusing on systems integrations/enhancements and/or process improvements. Subject matter expert on system and processes pertaining to the organization. Creates and maintains project deliverables through planning and schedules, meeting quality of output, schedule and budget parameters.
  • 20% Motivates and influences leadership for collective decision making. Creates a sense of belonging for associated team and leads effectively.
  • 10% Guides organization on best-in-class technology, processes and tools associated with benchmarking other companies and vendors. Maintains vendor relationships and seeks out additional partners amongst industry and business leaders. Stays abreast of the competitive landscape, consumer data for their areas of expertise. Provides input and resources in driving major process improvement initiatives for The Home Depot.
  • 10% Provides guidance and training specific to area of expertise. Assists in collaborating findings from data and making recommendations. Demonstrates proficiency of specific processes both orally and in writing presentations. Subject matter expert regarding operations and processes within Customer Care.

    • Position reports to the Director, Workforce Operations
    • Accountable for the management of a department or functional group through subordinate supervisors/managers and for all personnel issues - including selection, termination, performance appraisal and professional development of subordinates.
