Tevas Global Research & Development (R&D) organization is devoted to the development of new medicines, devices and combination products that provide meaningful therapeutic benefit to patients worldwide. Job Description

The Sr. Manager, Facilities and Maintenance will lead a team of internal and contracted subject-matter experts that are responsible for the end-to-end management of laboratory and manufacturing equipment maintenance.   The selected individual will be a key member of the R&D organization with responsibilities in CMC Biologics extending to Specialty Specialty Bioanalytics, and the Device Group.  The position will require significant experience leading and managing facility/equipment maintenance teams.  They will take primary responsibility for managing the overall maintenance program and will be responsible to ensure that the program exceeds industry standards and regulatory expectations. In this role you will have frequent interface with Quality, Validation, and the Automation & Technology groups.   The individual will be responsible for the development, implementation, and operation of a reliability program for the site.  


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    Maintain and enhance the maintenance program that supports both GxP and Non-GxP areas
    Set expectations and hold employees accountable for performance and professional behavior. Demonstrate expected behavior 
    Provide technical oversight and leadership to the maintenance department,
    Provide training to the maintenance department 
    Monitor daily activities of the maintenance department
    Ensure work is completed in a timely fashion, monitor and adjust workloads to ensure business continuity and compliance is adhered to
    Develop and Revise department related SOPs
    Follow applicable SOPs/Work Instructions and comply with cGxP regulations for laboratory and manufacturing operations,
    Utilize reliability centered maintenance (RCM) methodology to ensure that the best maintenance practices are applied to each critical asset based on its operating environment
    Continuously refine long term maintenance and reliability strategies and improvement plans


The position will be based in West Chester, PA.  Occasional travel to other global Teva sites may be required.

Required Qualifications

    Associates Degree (Bachelors preferred) 
    A minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in developing and managing facility and equipment programs in a biologics cGMP environment
    Experience of managing a team of engineers/technicians and a network of external contracted resources
    Experience of successful interfacing with Facilities, Quality, Validation and Information Technology groups to develop requirements, establish programs and manage day-to-day operation
    Understanding of utility systems, process equipment, and analytical equipment
    Experience establishing overarching, comprehensive, and compliant life-cycle maintenance programs 
    Experience of establishing function-appropriate maintenance and programs for laboratories (development and Quality Control)
    Experience of process and equipment troubleshooting, investigation, and resolution of deviations, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions
    Experience interacting with auditors of internal, external, and regulatory audits for pharmaceutical companies
