The Home Depot is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join their Merchandising Finance Interconnected Team.  This position assists in the preparation of economic analysis and the development of advanced analytics to support the company’s strategic objectives The role works cross-functionally with finance business partners supporting Merchandising, Supply Chain, and Online to design and implement tools, and new visibility/reporting capabilities. This role has responsibility for creating analytics, translating business questions to actionable insights, supporting ongoing analytical needs, designing new analytical tools, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high quality analytical solutions for The Home Depot. This role is expected to leverage effective communication skills to translate complex analyses into understandable insights, with a passion to learn and develop. Additionally, this position will support, and help to improve, monthly reporting, forecasting, planning, and ad-hoc analytics processes. The ideal candidate is highly organized, with great attention to detail, and is skilled at data analytics. Strong excel, presentation and problem-solving skills are necessary, while knowledge of Tableau and SQL are strongly preferred.

Duties will include but are not limited to:

• Performs economic and financial research and analyzes internal and external issues related to sales, gross margin, rate of return, financial performance, and other financial metrics.
• Compiles or prepares reports, graphs and charts of developed data.
• Contribute to the development, engagement, and implementation of long-term strategic and technical projects
• Conduct special financial studies and coordinate cross functionally throughout the organization to drive value for online and the company
• Help drive process improvement and implementation within the finance group and within the organization.
• Present regularly to business partners as well as opportunity to present to leadership.
  Key Responsibilities:
  • 25% Oversee the administration of financial policies.
  • 25% Conducts special financial studies and coordinates with other departments in the preparation of statistical studies.
  • 25% Performs internal and external economic research and analyzes issues related to specific financial metrics to ensure competitiveness
  • 5% Compiles or prepares reports, graphs and charts of data developed.
  • 10% Recommends changes in financial analysis methods or procedures.
  • 10% Assists and supervises Financial Analysts in the daily preparation and conduct of their work.

      • Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
        Physical Requirements:
        • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
          Working Conditions:
          • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
          • Under constant pressure to continuously meet tight deadlines, demanding quotas and/or must regularly deal with difficult situations.
