Staples US Retail is assembling an internal creative team of strategic thinkers, collaborators and storytellers to help us continue to share our evolution to Staples Connect and define Staples stores as the working and learning destination for local communities. This nimble, collaboration-oriented team of designers, writers, creators, producers and project managers will work shoulder-to-shoulder with marketers, merchants, strategists, product owners and external creative teams to develop compelling content and build engaging store, digital and marketing experiences for our customers. **This role: Clear and communicative project management**



Reporting to the Creative Operations Director, the Senior Creative Project Manager (SCPM) serves as point person for various internal clients in developing, producing, managing, and publishing marketing collateral and digital campaigns across all product categories, the SCPM executes internal client requests ensuring on-target, on-time, on-budget and on-brand delivery of marketing materials. The SCPM must exhibit outstanding project management and client / team communication skills to achieve the highest possible standards in client service. He/she needs basic knowledge of clients business challenges to provide communications solutions and project management execution. The SCPM will also be expected to run status meetings to ensure final output is on schedule. In addition, the SCPM will provide project management follow-through and accurate delivery.



**Key Responsibilities**



+ Develop and maintain solid client relationships

+ Encourage a collaborative approach with departmental team members

+ Write creative briefs on complex projects and interpret them for project teams in order to lead communication strategies and implement marketing efforts



+ Recommend the effective reuse of past materials when appropriate to minimize client costs

+ Present concepts to clients, obtain feedback and translate that feedback for the project team

+ Review client change requests and respond with schedule/cost impacts along with alternatives

+ Manage expectations with clients and departmental teams

+ Negotiate timelines and budgets and ensure that all deadlines are maintained



+ Represent the interests of the client in interactions with project teams

+ Ensure all and branding guidelines are followed to the letter on their assigned businesses

+ Provide final sign-off on projects to ensure compliance with creative brief and project specifications

+ Leverage knowledge and understanding of graphic design, creative and production to facilitate effective communication between client and departmental teams

+ Develops, maintains, and strictly adheres to project budget, schedules, identifying deadlines, goals, risks, and contingency plans



**Qualifications**

**Skills & Knowledge Requirements**



+ Ad agency project management experience preferably including digital, print, and social media campaigns



+ Ability to lead cross-functional teams, both through idea generation and assessment of ideas generated by others

+ Team player with excellent relationship-building skills

+ Operates effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

+ Adept at crisis management

+ Able to work independently, resourceful and solution-oriented



+ Excellent written, verbal, communication and presentation skills

+ Excellent creative project management skills, highly organized and able to multitask effectively

+ Ability to gain client trust and effectively manage client expectations

+ Strong understanding of the creative process as well as design and print/web production

+ Successful track record at client service in a marketing or creative environment



+ Ability to create and execute successful marketing tasks within an overall framework

+ Detail oriented

+ Knowledge of and experience with the following software programs: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, etc.). Experience working in a database is recommended

+ Knowledge of the following programs is helpful, but not required: Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.)



**Education & Experience Requirements**



+ Bachelors degree required, preferably in marketing, communications, advertising or business

+ 7+ years of professional-level experience in a project management role either in an external or internal agency in the print/publishing/marketing fields



+ Proven project management skills in a complex environment
