POSITION PURPOSE

The person in this position will be a key contributor to the Financial Reporting, Research and Analysis Team (FRRAT), supporting the Manager of Financial Reporting and Supervisor of Financial Reporting. The role focuses on delivering value to the Company and external users through accurate and efficient preparation of both external financial statements and key internal financial reports, assisting with the implementation and ongoing application of various accounting standards to ensure that management has the necessary information to make the best decision for the business. Within this role, the senior accountant will work closely with teams across multiple organizations of the business, as well as external parties. The senior accountant must be able to work at a technical level (accounting research) and at a tactical level (analyzing data, application of accounting standards and problem solving).

External Reporting
This position is responsible for assisting in the preparation, review and analysis of required SEC external financial statements (10-Q, 8-K,10-K, 11-K) as well as other filings as they arise (i.e. registration statements). These responsibilities include ensuring compliance with US GAAP and SEC regulations, as well as assisting with XBRL compliance. This role will work directly with business partners including but not limited to consolidations, treasury, corporate accounting, finance, and investor relations.

Internal Reporting
This position is responsible for assisting with monthly internal reporting through the preparation and/or review of the monthly P&L and key schedules used by executive management. The senior accountant will also be directly responsible for the preparation of the cash flow statement on a monthly basis 

Technical Accounting
This role will assist in the research and implementation of new accounting standards, which will require staying current on proposed and existing guidance. This role will also assist in researching other accounting issues as they arise, with the opportunity to draft technical accounting memos. The senior accountant will also perform the annual goodwill impairment analysis, as well as other ad-hoc technical analysis. 

Other
This position will be provided with opportunities for departmental training and development and should be committed to work in a team-oriented environment. There will be opportunities for ad-hoc reporting and presentations to senior leadership, as well as participation in special projects as needed. This position will also work with the team to identify, recommend and implement process improvements.

• Preparation, review, and analysis of management reporting, including the income and balance sheet statements, consolidated statements and other accounting statements and reports.
• Applies Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and develops or recommends accounting methods and procedures.
• Assures that all assigned projects adhere to accepted professional standards.
• Recommends changes in accounting methods or procedures.

    ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

    • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
    • Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
