Job Summary | The Research Associate Clinical Senior will be instrumental to the success of collection, processing and banking of all biospecimens collected by clinical trials participants and other clinic programs as well as assisting outside faculty and investigators at the University, and will lead evaluations and clinical procedures of study subjects along with the clinical team, attending physician and/or Principal Investigator. Essential duties of this position include, but are not limited to, managing the collection, processing and banking of biospecimens, as well as assessing, planning and implementing research related activities while using a wide repertory of assessment tools to determine the research patient’s needs. Will be responsible for onboarding and retraining of staff with regard to laboratory procedures, techniques, lab and patient safety. In addition, this position will collaborate with the clinic administrator and other team leaders to evaluate the effectiveness of care that is planned, administered or delegated. Manage and conduct technical and medical procedures including blood collection, EKG, EEG, retinal imaging and lumbar puncture preparation and processing. Must successfully collaborate with the biospecimen core of the SBCoA to collect, record and bank all specimens collected at the clinic Complete data management and compliance related to research subjects and studies will also be important job functions, and this position will ensure data collection and entry is completed as well as accurately reported. In addition, this position has supervisory responsibilities and will provide leadership, guidance, training and direction to the clinical team as well as giving them strategic direction. As a Supervisor, this position will proactively and frequently engage in performance management conversations with team members, including conducting mid-year reviews as appropriate and annual performance reviews in conjunction with manager. The successful candidate will be expected to ensure compliance with University of Kentucky policies and procedures, and federal, state, and local regulations. In addition, this position will evaluate and implement change based upon study team compliance with required study procedures and GCP standards. Skills / Knowledge / Abilities | The ideal candidate must be customer service oriented and have effective time management, planning and organizational, attention to detail, observation, decision making and analytical skills. This individual must be a team player and possess excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with a strong respect for diversity, high emotional intelligence and confidentiality. In addition, we are looking for experience with Microsoft Office Suite and knowledge of clinical trial standards. |
