Must have strong existing computer skills with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, Google Docs, and general Internet and electronic communications. Data analysis experience, including dissemination of findings. Articulate and tactful communications skills; readiness to work directly with stakeholders and community/campus partners.

Job Summary

Part-time temp tech research assistant will assist with the design, data collection, and evaluation of projects related to tobacco prevention, tobacco education, and tobacco policies. In addition, the student will assist with literature reviews, development of manuscripts (as appropriate), maintain documentation of current events and news stories related to the health issue, among other relevant duties. The position will be approximately 10 hours/week and hourly availability can be discussed. There may be an opportunity for 20 hours/week beginning in the spring. Students with current graduate assistantships may apply for this position. However, we would need to request an override from the Graduate School and you would not be permitted to go above .75 FTE.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

Required abilities and dispositions: High personal motivation, self-management, and detail-oriented; ability to take responsibility in meeting deadlines and making progress without direct supervision. Strong spoken and written communications skills. Motivation to engage in and manage a wide range of intellectual and physical work, ranging from preparing health education materials to conducting phone interviews.
