Position overview and primary responsibilities
The primary role of the Pricing Manager is to coordinate pricing activities and provide the related pricing analysis and support. Responsibilities include leading adherence to the pricing policies and procedures, evaluating price increases (including the impacts of price protection and government pricing), securing approval of new product pricing, managing the price increase proposal and approval process and coordinating state/federal brand price transparency reporting. The pricing manager is expected to be a subject matter expert on gross to net sales and will report to the Sr. Director Strategic Pricing & Contracting. This position will provide support for all Teva US Products.
Major duties and responsibilities required to achieve the positions objectives and be successful in the Pricing Manager role.
- Consult with business units on pricing strategies and proposals. Calculate and communicate the financial impacts of proposed pricing actions and verify that all appropriate checks and approvals are completed.
- Manage pricing policies and procedures. Ensure procedures are followed and approvals obtained as appropriate. Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure pricing actions are implemented timely and accurately. Track and manage federal and state pricing transparency policy submissions.
- Provide expertise and guidance to the Best Price calculation. Forecast and communicate projected AMP, ASP, Best Price, CPI penalty and the Federal URA. Provide expertise to all brands on Medicaid and Federal pricing, ASP, and Reimbursement.
- Develop analysis tools to evaluate pricing proposals. Effectively utilize existing data and systems to support the pricing function. Responsible for building and maintaining the pricing database to document and address pricing issues as they occur.
- Attend various Pricing and Contracting training and industry meetings to stay current on regulatory requirements, Medicaid and Federal pricing regulations, and legislation impacting Pharmaceutical pricing.
Education: Bachelors Degree Required, MBA preferred
Experience required:
- 5 + years of experience in Pharmaceutical pricing, Market Access, Payer contracting or government pharmaceutical price forecasting/reporting.
- Forecasting and predictive modeling experience.
- Basic understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, payer segments, the pharmaceutical pricing environment, and business analysis.
Specific type of experience preferred:
- Strong financial analysis skills including extensive familiarity with Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to prepare and present results to senior management.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and written/verbal communication skills.
- Strong understanding of the regulatory requirements as it pertains to contracting, third-party payers, and the government pricing environment.
