REPORTS TO: Power Systems Supervisor Department: Power Systems Job Summary: Responsible for the assembly, installation, preventive maintenance and repair of basic and complex power systems in the shop and/or field. Repairs products and equipment at customer's locations. Power Systems Field Techs engage in selling parts and services to our customers and deliver these by commercial motor vehicle. Power Systems Field Techs are responsible for developing relationships with customers to retain customers and to solicit future business. Field Techs perform over 98% of assignments with little or no supervision. Minimum

REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or equivalent and three years experience in repair and operation of mechanical and electrical systems. Must be able to read, understand and follow service literature, including electrical schematics. Ability to design, fabricate, install and make operational, custom circuits, brackets and other components. Valid state driver's license and ability to be DOT certified, if needed. Must have own hand tools. Key Areas: Responsibilities: Duties Inspect and operate systems to troubleshoot problem and determine appropriate repair procedures. Repair systems as required. Systems include, but are not limited to: Electric Power Generators, Automatic Transfer switches, Paralleling Switchgear, Electronic Governors, Jacket Water Heaters, Spark Ignited Engines, Computerized Controls, Marine Engines, Marine Gear, Marine Controls, Battery Chargers, Manual Clutches and Schematics. May require design and fabrication of systems to complete. Test systems after repairs are complete to ensure correct operation. Record Keeping Account for travel time, work time, mileage, lodging and any outside purchases by completing time sheets daily. Ability to accurately and timely complete service reports as required. Ability to request parts and return parts as needed. Communications Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of customers and co-workers. Maintain a positive and professional relationship with customers and co-workers. Collections Collect money from customer and process payments as required by Credit department. Driving Must have a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record and be able to pass DOT physical. Maintain service vehicle by means of scheduled preventative maintenance and repairs as needed. Maintain vehicle in clean and orderly manner. Appearance Maintain a professional, business-like appearance at all times when representing the Company. Working Conditions Must be able to drive for extended periods of time frequently. Occasionally required to travel by air. Some overnight travel is required. Employee is occasionally is submitted to high levels of stress. Employee is frequently exposed to adverse weather conditions. Employee is frequently exposed to loud noise, vibration, moving parts, high voltage, confined spaces, heights, oils, gases and caustic chemicals. Must be able to utilize, know, and follow all safety procedures and policies. Physical Requirements Must be able to exert 50 lbs. of force occasionally and 20 lbs. of force frequently. Position requires reaching, grasping, walking, jumping, climbing, bending, kneeling and standing. Must be able to effectively communicate, both written and verbally, for contact with customers and co-workers. Must be able to hear telephone conversations. Must be able to read and comprehend information received via computer terminal, specification reports, memo's & reports. General & Other Must adhere to all company and department personnel policies and procedures.
