Job Summary

The Department of Physics & Astronomy at the University of Kentucky is seeking candidates for a 2-year (with the possibility of a renewal) post-doctoral scholar position to work on galaxy clusters with Prof. Yuanyuan Su. Experience with X-ray data analysis is desirable, but not a requirement, and candidates with broad observational experience and interest in cluster science and extragalactic astrophysics are also encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will have ample funds for travel and an opportunity to spend 6 months at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics.

Applicants should submit a CV, a publication list (upload as Specific Request 1), and a summary of past research and research plan (upload as Specific Request 2). In addition, please provide the names and contact information for three references when prompted in the academic profile. This information will be utilized to solicit recommendation letters from your references within the employment system at a more advanced stage of the application process.

The approximate start date is negotiable but no later than August 2020. Review of applications will begin on December 1st 2019 and will continue until the position is filled.

Applicants should have a PhD in physics, astronomy or related subject by the time of the appointment.
