A career in Office of General Counsel, within Internal Firm Services, will provide you with the opportunity to be a part of the Firms legal department by providing dedicated legal support in the areas of litigation, counselling, and corporate, commercial, and employment law. Youll play an important part in all aspects of regulatory proceedings involving the Firm and its personnel by supporting on regulatory issues, advising the Firm on matters relating to its operations, supporting the Firms client contracting function, and advising on matters related to employees.


As a Manager, youll work as part of a team of problem solvers with extensive consulting and industry experience, helping our clients solve their complex business issues from strategy to execution. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Proactively assist in the management of a portfolio of clients, while reporting to Senior Managers and above
  • Be involved in the financial management of clients
  • Be actively involved in business development activities to help identify and research opportunities on new/existing clients
  • Contribute to the development of your own and teams technical acumen
  • Develop strategies to solve complex technical challenges
  • Assist in the management and delivering of large projects
  • Train, coach, and supervise staff
  • Keep up to date with local and national business and economic issues
  • Continue to develop internal relationships and your PwC brand

This role is responsible for the Corporate Secretariat activities for the Firm, including planning meetings, preparation of minutes, responding to government inquiries and research.

Demonstrates extensive level knowledge and/or a proven record of success in the following areas:

  • Demonstrating strategic and technical orientation in the field of corporate law, corporate governance, corporate secretarial activities and legal research and writing;
  • Managing corporate secretarial, corporate governance and legal and related corporate tasks with minimal input from other members of the group;
  • Understanding the requirements of corporate law and related fields that fall within the remit of a corporate legal group such as corporate governance, Mergers and Acquisitions processes, contract law, legal structuring, and partnership law;
  • Developing, updating, and maintaining systems for meeting corporate documentation and corporate compliance requirements;
  • Building, maintaining and utilizing relationships with senior members of an organization and their support teams, to create trust and work efficiently and effectively;
  • Working with senior resources to develop processes, tools and standards for the efficient administration of corporate legal obligations and those of its subsidiaries, including through legal entity management software systems;
  • Managing the legal aspects of a corporate structure, including creation and dissolution of legal entities, subsidiary resolutions, and legal filings, in each case within the US and abroad;
  • Leading the legal group's records and knowledge management activities;
  • Managing the obligations of a corporate entity and its subsidiaries;
  • Supporting Mergers and Acquisitions transactions and other special projects;
  • Organizing and implementing all aspects and informational needs of a board; 
  • Preparing board presentations and supporting documentation;
  • Working with people in a fast-paced environment;
  • Exercising judgment regarding confidential and sensitive information;
  • Influencing others and negotiating skills; 
  • Leveraging interpersonal skills and interacting with leadership and staff from a National and Global perspective;
  • Utilizing analytical skills and having attention to details; and,
  • Demonstrating proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Lotus Notes and Google.
