Position Description:
POSITION PURPOSE
The Mgr, Data Science & Analytics is responsible for leading a team of analysts and data scientist providing analytical and data science support to the development and execution of pricing strategies and tactics at THD. The incumbent will play a key role in providing thought leadership to oversee the development of insightful and scalable pricing insights, ensuring analytic capabilities are defined with proper methodological rigor and architected to be available in a robust, scalable, and sustainable fashion.
MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
20%- Coordinate with stakeholders to conceptualize, develop and implement consistent, robust and sustainable pricing and business intelligence capabilities. Provide though leadership and subject matter expertise in all aspects related to analytics and data science within pricing context
40%- Lead the team in development of analytical insights and recommendations to cross-functional business partners both within and outside of pricing organization to helping them gain a better understanding of business, identify sales and profitability opportunities, and improve their decision-making
20%- Coach and continuously develop analytics and data science talent within the team
10%- Collaborate with partners to define the strategy and development plan for pricing, business intelligence, and competitive intelligence capabilities
10%- Prioritize multiple requests from executive and cross-functional partners for both ad-hoc and repeatable support
NATURE AND SCOPE
Reports to Sr Manager, Pricing.
This role has 2-5 direct reports.
ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
Environment:
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Travel:
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Additional Minimum Qualifications:

Education Required:
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
Years of Relevant Work Experience: 6 years
Physical Requirements:
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Additional Qualifications:
Experience leading an analytical or data science project
Experience of using advanced statistical techniques and concepts (regression, properties of distributions, statistical tests and proper usage, etc.)
Experience using statistical and data manipulation computer languages (e.g. Python, R, SQL).
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience managing analytical and data science teams
Master s degree in Operations Research, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science or Engineering
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies: Knowledge of a variety machine learning techniques (clustering, decision tree learning, artificial neural networks, etc.) and their real-world advantages/drawbacks
Experience of using advanced statistical techniques and concepts (regression, properties of distributions, statistical tests and proper usage, etc.)
Experience using statistical and data manipulation computer languages (e.g. Python, R, SQL)
Experience visualizing/presenting data for stakeholders using Tableau or other similar applications
Critical thinking, effective written and verbal communication skills
