Job Description

Reporting to the Director of Tax Research, Planning and Controversy, the role of the Tax Manager is an exceptional opportunity for an engaged individual with strong tax technical skills, an aptitude for problem solving, great communication skills and the desire to grow as part of a dynamic tax team. The Tax Manager will support the Director and/or assist in:
 

  • Internal and external transactional work and tax planning initiatives.
  • Conducting research on tax legal and accounting positions and document their conclusions.
  • Drafting tax technical memoranda.
  • Performing complex qualitative and quantitative analyses on business projects and/or processes.


These responsibilities will be carried out with a focus on maximizing tax savings opportunities while ensuring compliance with the tax payment and reporting obligations of the Company.  The incumbent will interact regularly and routinely with other functions within the tax and finance departments, and to some extent with the commercial, business and other operations of Company.


Responsibilities:

  • Identify tax related risks and opportunities.
  • Analyze, develop and implement strategies for transactions and other initiatives to minimize tax risks and maximize tax efficiencies; communicate the same to management and stakeholders.
  • Monitor case law, tax legislation and regulations at the Federal and State levels; advise on and document the potential impact of these developments on the Company.
  • Support the Director in formulating audit strategies at the Federal and State levels, research and draft responses to inquiries from revenue authorities and assist in the management of audits.
  • Work with Tax Operations and other parts of the tax function to ensure that tax positions, initiatives and structures are correctly disclosed and/or reported for tax provision purposes and on timely filed returns.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of Tevas domestic tax operations.
  • Other projects and tasks as assigned.


An important aspect of the incumbents role will be the pursuit of continuous improvement, reviewing, recommending and implementing process improvements for work flow, data management and tax software solutions within a strong control environment. 

Qualifications

  • BA required; CPA or JD/ LL.M 
  • Minimum 3 years combined Big-4 and/or large corporate experience.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills.
  • Solid tax accounting knowledge.
  • Solid organization, project skills and initiative.
  • A desire to learn and grow professionally.
