Job Description

This role is responsible for developing analytic solutions that are used for critical business decisions in areas such as sales force targeting, product launch analysis, segmentation, resource allocation, and ROI of promotional investments.  The Sales Analytics & Effectiveness Manager will consult with Sales, Marketing and Sales Operations leadership to understand their business strategy and critical needs and then determine the appropriate analytic solutions to enable more efficient customer focus and improved ROI on commercial strategies and tactics.  Strong analytical, project management, and communication skills, along with innovative thinking are critical for success in this role.

-Develop a sound understanding of the assigned brands with respect to products, markets and their dynamics, evolution, opportunities and challenges

-Fully leverage sub-national data, market, competitor and product information to produce objective analysis of market drivers, the competitive environment and trends in order to provide an appropriate future context for todays investment and strategy

-Provide guidance to Sales and Marketing leadership to ensure efficient and effective use of resources through advanced analytics with sub-national data.  Increase understanding of effectiveness/ROI of all promotional efforts including sales force.

-Collaborate closely with the Sales Planning team to conduct and manage all Sales Force Targeting and Call Planning development using internal and external resources

-Partner with the Commercial Analytics and Insights team to ensure that research findings are used effectively to address knowledge gaps for the respective portfolio of assigned brands

-Identify appropriate 3rd party data sources, where necessary, in order to improve the quality of specific ad hoc analyses

-Contribute to the transfer and sharing of knowledge across the Sales Analytics and Effectiveness team

Qualifications

Required Experience:
-Bachelors degree in a quantitative sciences field (Statistics, Operations Research, Mathematics, Econometrics, Management Science or other related area)
-3-5 years related analytical experience within the pharmaceutical industry

Preferred Experience:
- Advanced degree in a quantitative sciences field (Statistics, Operations Research, Mathematics, Econometrics, Management Science or other related area)
-10 years related analytical experience within the pharmaceutical industry

Job Competencies:
-Proficient with the SAS programming language and SQL (other programming language experience is a plus)
-Experience with Tableau or other data visualization software
-Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
-Strong knowledge of Pharmaceutical secondary data sources such as Xponent, Xponent PlanTrak, DDD/MD, Prescription and Medical Claims, etc.
-
Experience with segmentation, targeting, predictive modeling, data mining, and other advanced analytic methods
