The Manager, Merchandising Strategy owns and leads discrete strategic projects. This role will partner with various internal teams and   organizations across The Home Depot to discover and execute business development, operational, or strategic initiatives that will provide value to the entire QuoteCenter Merchandising team. In addition, the Manager, Merchandising Strategy is a thought partner helping to set the agenda for the business unit as a whole. Collectively the team is responsible for developing overall strategy, helping to prioritize initiatives, working on business development opportunities and monitoring performance relative to competitors. In addition to the annual strategic planning process, examples of typical projects include: scan of major technology trends likely to impact the Merchandising department, developing win-win partnerships with internal teams, and leveraging existing relationships to test and report out on innovative new tactics.

Major Tasks,   Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities:

70%- Strategic projects: analyze   business problems, structure the issue and prioritizes analyses, synthesize data to develop a solution, create documents communicating solutions using structured communication principles, present solutions to the team and stakeholders, work with stakeholders to implement solutions.      
20%- Planning process: lead one or more workstreams in the strategic and operational planning cycle.
10%- Competitive and market intelligence: develop expertise and become the go-to expert on key competitors and market trends; own regular reporting on one or more data sources.

Nature and Scope:

This position reports to a Senior Manager, Pro Merchandising Strategy.    This position has direct reports.


Environmental Job   Requirements:

Environment:1. Located in a   comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and   not objectionable.

Travel:1. Typically   requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
