Learning & Organizational Development Consultant

As a Learning & Organizational Development Consultant for Staples, you will act as a lead on the development and implementation of key strategies and learning to create and sustain a high performing organization. You will drive learning and talent management practices & programs across US Retail. You will work in close partnership with our HR Business Partners and functional business leaders and must have exceptional consulting, project management, relationship building and client management skills.

**Program Management:**

+ Liaising with Senior Manager, Organizational Development, the OD Consultant, manages designs, develops, coordinates, implements, facilitates and evaluates programs that support both Field Operations and Home Office Leadership development needs

+ Manage the administration and communications around core programs in strong partnership with our HR Business Partners

+ Research training industry trends and new learning methodologies; integrates new thinking, new knowledge into content

+ Build internal body of knowledge (share project learning, circulate articles, identify trends in learning, attend conferences)

**Design and Development:**

+ Use appropriate mediums such as classroom training, e-learning, self-help tools and exercises for Field Operations and Home Office Leadership needs

+ Manage large scale training design and implementation initiatives

+ Apply Adult Learning principles to all learning and development initiatives including, conducting front-end design analysis, determining learning objectives, designing course materials and curriculum, designing learning evaluations, validating training design, and establishing ROI measurement criteria

**Organizational Development:**

+ Work with HR Business Partners and business leads to design and facilitate team building interventions as needed for internal clients; utilizes proven techniques and tools (i.e. MBTI), as well as customized approaches

+ Identify and create distinctions among job roles in career paths by outlining their core responsibilities, skills, and requirements to outline common avenues for moving within and across jobs in ways that facilitate growth and career advancement

+ As assigned, conduct needs assessment. Data gathering includes 1:1 interviews, focus group facilitation, and company survey preparation. Data analysis, report generation and department data follow up required

+ In partnership with Senior Manager, Organizational Development, provide guidance and advice to internal business units facing the need to innovate, change or solve a business issue. Serve as the subject matter expert around Staples innovation and change methodologies with the objective of driving positive change aligned to our overall company objectives

**Essential skills and experience:**

+ Bachelors degree in Business, Human Resources, or Organizational Development

+ 5-7 years of progressive experience in learning and development, as well as organizational development

+ Knowledge of current Organization Development principles, practices and tools

+ Knowledge of change management theories, methodologies and tools

+ Experience in designing and delivering leadership training and development programs, applying in-depth knowledge of Adult Learning Theory and Instructional Design principles

**Preferred skills and experience:**

+ Masters Degree preferred

+ Certificate/Diploma in Adult Learning or Organization Development

+ Certified in OD instruments preferred (i.e. MBTI, Hogan, Facilitation, Belbin, and Emotional Intelligence)
