Position Description:
Position Purpose:

The Experimentation Team builds infrastructure, libraries, automation, and processes to support world-class experimentation and analysis.  We are increasing our trust in our product data by developing and automating a schema and reporting on the health of our pipeline, and powering our HD org to run test faster with a higher degree of confidence.  Future projects include generalized tracking libraries across our tech stack, developing the next generation of our experimentation framework, building tools to manage our experiment ecosystem, and building pages, processes, and optimization for grander scale and capability!  In addition, we're bringing on experienced experimentation engineers to enable us to ship and measure new features with confidence and clarity.

The Lead IT Developer is a hybrid role with expert knowledge in analytics enablement, implementation development, reporting, and one or more supporting programming languages and databases.  Excellent understanding of the entire project life cycle and a good understanding of Agile methodology.  Ability to guide and direct project teams in the requirements gathering, design, and development of complex analytics enablement solutions.  The Lead Analytics Developer must work closely with analysts and developers to ensure proper solution design.  Ensures highest quality implementations from design through QA to production.  Assists multiple team members and other analysts in the day-to-day activities related to implementation.  Must be able to anticipate software, hardware, and architectural design needs.Additional Responsibilities:

  • Developing experiences or variations for experiments
  • Working with UX partners and Product Managers to determining the structure and design of web pages.
  • Developing features as per requirements, to enhance the user experience.
  • Ensuring responsive web design.
  • Building reusable code for future use.
  • Optimizing web pages for maximum speed and scalability.
  • Utilizing a variety of markup languages to write web pages and experiences.
  • Maintaining brand consistency throughout design.
  • Understanding of architectural design principles to ensure scalable integrations with internal and external tools.
  • Ensuring code delivery amidst changing platforms and tools.
  • Working with other engineers to ensure standardization and efficient code delivery.
  • Working with QA team to ensure quality of delivered experimentsAdditional Requirements:
    • Understanding of key design principles.
    • Proficiency with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, React and GraphQL [AngularJS is optional].
    • Understanding of client side and server-side testing solutions.
    • Working with REST APIs and Cookies management.
    • Experience with responsive and adaptive design.
    • Understanding of SEO principles (including Google Web Vitals).
    • Strong problem solving skills.
    • Excellent verbal communication skills.
    • Strong Communcation among stakeholdersMajor Tasks, Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities:
      • 30% - Work with the manager, business stakeholders, analysts, team developers, IT, and other 3rd party partners to assist with determining approach and needs for analytics enablement
      • 20% - Self-driven to communicate effectively across broad range of technical and business savvy stakeholders to assure alignment on solution and strategy/timeline to deploy
      • 15% - Drive effective Agile project delivery protocols to assure we gather and surface reliable, actionable enterprise level analytics
      • 20% - Ensure the team comprehends and applies the established processes and standards and mentor team on development
      • 5% - Provide status reports to Manager and review boards on complex development projects
      • 10% - Guide and direct project teams in the requirements gathering, design, and development of complex applications/programs
        Nature and Scope:
        • This position typically reports to the Senior Manager

        • For Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada and New York City residents: The pay range for this position is between $120,000 and $160,000. Starting salary may vary based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, the position being offered, location, education, training, and/or experience. The Home Depot offers additional competitive financial and non-financial benefits, which may include a performance-based bonus program or a profit sharing program depending on position.
          Environment:
          Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

          Travel:
          Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
