Job Summary

A lab-tech position in Molecular Biology is available for a gap year student or any individual with a strong desire to learn and do research in the Stamm lab. The work involves a project that can be used for an experimental thesis.

The position is ideal for a gap year student seeking more experience prior to applying to medical or graduate school (i.e gap year student with a bachelor).

The person should work ideally 40 hrs/week, a minimum of 30 hrs/week. Payment is $11 /hour.

The project is centered on circular RNAs generated from the human tau locus that could be involved in Alzheimer’s disease (see Welden et al. 2018, PMID: 29729314).

The work involves modern molecular biology techniques, such as Gibson cloning, RT-PCR, Western Blots, cell culture and gene expression. In addition, lab organization (media, ordering) should be performed.
