SUMMARY

The primary purpose of this position is to investigate all aspects of organized retail crime in the stores and to assist in conducting special high-level investigations as needed. With a focus on organized retail crime, this position helps to identify and develop appropriate reporting methods and mechanisms to maximize efficiencies and best practices within the area of responsibility and across the asset protection organization. The position will require relationship building with law enforcement, ORCA committees and groups, and various field asset protection partners as required.  Frequent independent judgments are essential. The incumbent is also required to perform all tasks in observance of Rite Aids brand and strategy and adhere to our core values and service attributes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned:

  •  Investigate incidents of organized retail crime and bring to a successful conclusion through the identification and prosecution of offenders
  •  Identify incidents of organized retail crime through available information, such as LPMS, Hawkeye, DeepCam; and information provided by field AP
  •  Partner with law enforcement at local, state, and federal levels to identify, investigate, and prosecute external theft offenders
  •  Supports the company to achieve the sales and shrink goal through programs designed to reduce shrink in high theft categories
  • Educate our Rite Aid community and our law enforcement partners by delivering organized retail crime training 
  • Assist stores and field AP staff in identifying organized external theft activity, and work with them to develop proactive controls to prevent theft 
  • Work with local ORC groups and committees to help identify organized retail crime and to bring prolific shoplifters to a successful conclusion 
  • Extensive travel and flexibility required in area assigned 

Experience / Requirements

  • 10 years of experience in investigation in retail loss prevention, preferably 5 years of which is organized retail crime

Education

  • H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred
  • LPQ or LPC Certifications preferred
