Job Summary

Student instructional designers: get paid while you build your portfolio with a flexible job in the College of Education as part of our #iCANendthetrend prevention and empowerment program. We are seeking a student to serve as an instructional designer for a variety of projects. Must possess proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) and experience creating professional, engaging presentations. Typical assignments will include creation of online presentation modules, assessment indicators, and use of learning-based management systems.
The Instructional Designer works with the Curriculum and Design Team to research, develop, and maintain instructor-led and web-based training and assessment tools for use in training opportunities.
This position reports to the #iCANendthetrend Program Director housed in the Department of Kinesiology and Health Promotion. We are seeking someone who can work between 10-20 hours a week (we can flex with your schedule). $13.50 per hour. This job has the potential to continue into the next academic year, contingent on funding. Must be creative, independent worker who meets timelines, responsible, professional, reliable, and able to multitask.

Roles and Responsibilities
Research, design, and develop instructor-led and web-based instructional material using instructional design best practices.
Prepare learner outcome assessments for both paper and online delivery.
Update/revise instructional and assessment material as needed based on updates to reference materials and client requests.
Plan and develop content management shells and designs.
Assist with audio voice-over editing and implementation.
Qualifications and Requirements Required
Bachelors degree in Instructional Design or a related field with equivalent experience; students in their junior or senior year making progress toward degree will be considered.
Excellent writing and communication skills and the ability to express ideas clearly and logically in a variety of media
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and basic knowledge of other Microsoft Office applications
Experience using eLearning development software such as Articulate Storyline
Ability to be flexible and multi-task in a fast-paced environment and meet stringent deadlines
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Detail oriented, curious, persistent in solving problems, self-motivated, and able to understand complex material and explain it clearly
Knowledge of Graphic Design principles a plus
