Upon resumption of normal operations, this role may be performed at our San Francisco, California office.

 

The Institutional Business Development role will report into the US Head of Institutional Sales and is responsible for developing and growing the Institutional Business in the US. This includes:

Developing and implementing business development strategies and establishing new business relationships in the Institutional sector, including consultants and directs.  This effort will include proactively identifying sales opportunities in the market, and developing these opportunities to achieve asset growth, sales and revenue targets and working with prospects and clients to understand their investment goals, including strategies, fund structures, and outcomes to drive business growth.

Additionally, collaboration with internal stakeholders, which may include relationship mangers, product specialists and other sales professionals domestic and cross-border, to maximize cross-selling opportunities and participating in events, initiatives and activities to develop business opportunities will be important aspects of the role.

Protecting the bank's reputation and ensuring an acceptable risk profile while establishing client sales relationships is paramount.

In addition to general sales responsibilities the role holder will:

  • Have deep and actionable domain experience and expertise in Institutional asset management sales, and experience and familiarity with selling a range of asset classes and product types across Fixed income, Equities and Alternatives, and including Asia, Emerging Markets, Infrastructure, Alternatives, Sustainability / ESG Net zero.
  • It will be important to be visible externally in North America positioning as an Institutional sales leader, and to possess an entrepreneurial, self-motivated perspective and sales execution mindset.
