Job Summary

The Office of Strategic Planning & Institutional Effectiveness (OSPIE) is seeking an Associate Director of Institutional Effectiveness to provide leadership and support for a variety of assessment initiatives throughout campus. The individual will serve as an assessment thought leader by representing the office on committees, providing training to faculty and staff on assessment principles, and contributing to the on-going improvement of policies and procedures related to the mission of the office. The Associate Director is expected to possess strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other members of OSPIE in addition to partners across campus.

Specifically, the Associate Director will:
Serve as a campus leader on general education (UK Core) assessment by providing recommendations to the UK Core Education Committee on process improvement and facilitating training of faculty and staff, data collection and analysis, and interpretation and communication of results.
Provide leadership and support for the institutions Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) proposal process, implementation, assessment, and reporting.
Lead the implementation of and serve as a point of contact for the new institutional effectiveness and planning software platform.
Supervise student interns and graduate assistants, where funding is available
Develop and provide seminars, workshops, and materials to increase campus knowledge of assessment principles and processes
Collaborate with other team members to review and revise policies pertaining to the mission of the office
Participate in the review of assessment and accreditation plans and reports
Periodically engage in education research projects that align with the mission of the office.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

Data analysis, the ability to collect, clean,and analyze data. Knowledge of assessment and evaluation. Ability to interpret, recommend changes to policies and procedures. Ability to work collaboratively with and manage others.

Preferred Education/Experience

Experience in assessment and accreditation, experience managing complex processes at a large university or institution. Training/experience conducting educational research. Ability to use statistical software. Preferred ability to write tableau reports.
