A career in Office of General Counsel, within Internal Firm Services, will provide you with the opportunity to be a part of the Firms legal department by providing dedicated legal support in the areas of litigation, counselling, and corporate, commercial, and employment law. Youll play an important part in all aspects of regulatory proceedings involving the Firm and its personnel by supporting on regulatory issues, advising the Firm on matters relating to its operations, supporting the Firms client contracting function, and advising on matters related to employees.As part of our team, youll help with researching background information related to legal issues and prepare legal documents. Youll focus on drafting contracts or legal agreements, retaining files of prepared legal documents, and coordinating requests between internal and external counsel.

Engages with Network leaders to determine business objectives, including the technology product strategy and plans for the development, deployment and management of global apps and other IP. Provides counsel to stakeholders. Active in the operations of an IP-owning Network entity. Collaborates on support plans for business objectives and leads implementation of such. Recommends support for territories on IP matters and leads execution of approved plans.

Demonstrates thought leader-level abilities with, and/or a proven record of success directing efforts in the following areas:

  • Managing teams in a highly complex, matrixed environment;
  • Managing multi-cultural sensitivity and working in an organization with international locations preferred;
  • Identifying and analyzing complex legal/regulatory/business issues and providing appropriate legal advice, often on a time sensitive basis;
  • Being a skilled negotiator;
  • Managing multiple cases/matters/projects and/or teams of internal and/or external resources;
  • Building consensus, even for difficult or unpopular courses of action necessitated by legal or regulatory requirements;
  • Managing outside counsel expenses to obtain optimal outcomes;
  • Identifying, protecting, managing, commercializing and licensing intellectual property;
  • Identifying legal issues related to software development; and,
  • Building consensus, even for difficult or unpopular courses of action necessitated by legal or regulatory requirements.
