Position Description:
The Security Analyst will focus on cloud security within the major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). This will include employing best practice, and desired state using configuration management tools such as Puppet and Chef. The role will also, handle vulnerability analysis and remediation for Windows and Linux systems working closely with system and application owners to ensure their environment is patch compliant. In addition, project-based work will include guidance to move applications to container-based architecture.

  • Analyze data by using queries and reports.
  • Deploy and manage endpoint security tools (Antivirus/Antimalware, Exploit prevention, DLP, Host-based Intrusion Prevention)
  • Vulnerability remediation for Microsoft and Linux systems (Includes patches, registry and config file fixes).
  • Identify and configure the most appropriate method to distribute and manage content used for deployments.
  • Deploy, manage and monitor Security Information Event Monitoring tool such as Splunk, LogRhythm, USM, ArcSight, Etc.
  • Monitor Web Application Firewall and work with vendor to remediate identified issues.
  • Manage configuration items, baselines, and profiles to assess and configure compliance settings.
  • Operate code scanning vulnerabilities tools and reporting


  • Complete regular internal system security audits using Nessus and Qualys.
  • Work with systems owners to remediate identified security vulnerabilities.

Typically reports to GC Director of IT Infrastructure

Typically located in a comfortable indoor area. There may be regular exposure to mild physical discomfort from factors such as dust, fumes or odors, temperature extremes, loud noise, strong drafts, or bright lights.
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Additional Environmental Job Requirements:

Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Additional Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum four years of experience in cloud security administration.
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate or greater.
  • Microsoft Azure Security Engineer Associate or greater.
  • CEH, CISM, CISSP, and/or Security+ certifications a plus.
  • Linux/Unix patch and vulnerability management a plus.
  • A documented history of successfully driving projects to completion.
  • A demonstrated ability to understand and articulate complex requirements.
Education Required:
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
Years of Relevant Work Experience: 4 years
Physical Requirements:
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

  • Strong understanding of vulnerability remediation and IT Security fundamentals.
  • Understanding of the cloud security and best practice.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Creative and analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources and determine underlying true needs.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, handle and prioritize simultaneous requests, and manage laterally and upwards.
