Additional Responsibilities:

As a Product Manager/Product Owner in PwCs Advisory Insurance Practice, you will lead Insurance clients across sectors, and create & deliver their strategies through new technologies. You will assist clients in defining customer experiences with high performing teams and deliver those experiences through technology by leading software development teams. Your primary responsibility will be to lead & manage projects end-to-end and guide teams through obstacles in a fast-paced Agile environment.

Certifications such as SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager (POPM), SAFe Program Consultant (SPC), or Project Management Professional Certification (PMP)

Project Management skills (risk management, scope management, change control, etc.)

Preferred Knowledge/Skills:

Demonstrates extensive abilities and/or a proven record of success as a Product Owner / Product Manager by:

  • Leading teams and clients in defining releases and Program Increments;
  • Owning release definition, including new features, architecture, and remediation plans for technical debt;
  • Leading various types of Insurance client engagements, such as: core policy, billing, claims transformations; CRM implementations; RPA and efficiency plays; data analytics transformations;
  • Teaching and coaching clients and team members in becoming effective Product Managers and Product Owners;
  • Setting Program Increment vision and business objectives, aligning with business leaders to prioritize deliverables;
  • Proposing new features and influencing others to gain alignment on the product roadmap and relevant upcoming milestones;
  • Prioritizing, overseeing, and directing the flow of work through the program kanban and into the program backlog;
  • Interacting with and motivating multi-disciplinary teams on a project/engagement to achieve a common goal;
  • Continuously identifying and mitigating significant project risks;
  • Working with client stakeholders at the management or executive level to understand complex business needs;
  • Managing and balancing resources across multiple teams to establish the delivery of business objectives;
  • Managing customer needs and validating solutions;
  • Communicating understanding of and constantly re-evaluating customer needs, acting as the internal voice of the customer alongside Product Owners for each value stream and team;
  • Managing the overall efforts of the user experience team to establish the output aligns with the needs of the customer base; and,
  • Transitioning and/or sunsetting capabilities from current applications to transformative technologies, while enabling future capabilities with no disruptions to the business.

Demonstrates extensive abilities as a Product Owner / Product Manager by having:

  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar position as Product Manager or Product Owner in software development with a proven track record;
  • Insurance business and acumen;
  • Demonstrate experience with Lean-Agile principles, metrics, and technology and/or experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), Scrum Lean Thinking, Lean Six Sigma;
  • Have a track record of setting agendas and delivering results;
  • Demonstrate proven experience in gathering, analyzing, and prioritizing opportunities and relevant requirements to differentiate in market;
  • Display seasoned analytical skills, both quantitative and qualitative;
  • Possess organizational skills with the ability to navigate complex organizational structures to deliver results;
  • Demonstrate the ability to drive work to conclusion without constant monitoring and intervention;
  • Demonstrate the ability to lead and influence peers and cross-functional stakeholders by building relationships / alignment across all levels and departments to achieve collaborative results;
  • Demonstrate awareness of technology and business trends and their potential influence on internal processes; and,
  • Demonstrate experience with Agile management tools (e.g. Rally, Jira, AgileCraft).
