Job Summary
The Kentucky Transportation Center (KTC) seeks applicants for a Research Engineer IV position. Prospective applicants should be interested in multidisciplinary transportation research and working on a broad range of topics. The Center performs research in several areas for local, state, and federal transportation agencies. Research foci include highway design, project management; pavement design and maintenance; infrastructure assessment and roadway forensic analysis; construction management; highway and infrastructure safety; structural engineering and preservation; intelligent transportation systems; economic, financial, and policy dimensions of transportation; traffic operations; and environmental analysis.

Prospective applicants should have at least five (5) years of research experience in one or more these areas. The Research Engineer IV occupies the role of technical specialist within KTC and is responsible for study design and the development and application of unique methodologies. The Research Engineer IV supervises multiple engineers, research scientists, and technicians and is responsible for overseeing multiple projects or serving as a program manager. As a representative of KTC, they are expected to build lasting partnerships with our clients, transportation organizations, and agencies.
