Job Summary | The Kentucky Transportation Center (KTC) seeks applicants for a Research Engineer I position. Prospective applicants should be interested in multidisciplinary transportation research and working on a broad range of topics. The Center performs research in several areas for local, state, and federal transportation agencies. Research foci include highway design; project management; pavement design and maintenance; infrastructure assessment and roadway forensic analysis; construction management; highway and infrastructure safety; structural engineering and preservation; intelligent transportation systems; economic, financial, and policy dimensions of transportation; traffic operations; and environmental analysis. While prospective applicants do not need to have research experience in these areas, they should have a broad understanding of transportation systems, be open to learning about new subjects, and be excited at the prospect of creating new knowledge that will influence how agencies manage critical infrastructure.
