Job Description

Teva is searching for an experienced EM/QI technician to join our team in Irvine!


As an Environmental Monitoring Qualified Individual (EM/QI) Technician, you will perform environmental monitoring sampling of areas and in process product fill testing including fill volume and headspace testing required per applicable SOP /cGMPs. You will execute and resolve problems while working on complex assignments requiring taking the initiative and independent action and thought. You will prioritize multiple priorities, adhere to strict timelines and communicate effectively within your own department and others.


Hours: Multiple shifts available. Flexibility required.


You will:

  • Support information gathering for investigations into OOS conditions/ Supports departmental subject matter expert on environmental sampling, aseptic practices, and manufacturing technology duties as directed.
  • Perform surface and air environmental monitoring / sampling of classified areas per SOP and ensure manufacturing is supported 24 hours a day/ 7 days a week. Submit sampling (plates) testing materials to the microbiology department for batching and incubations.
  • Perform in process testing to support production filling including line speed, fill volume, and headspace testing.
  • Issue Special Attention Notices and perform special finished product sampling. Perform batch record review of relevant sections as needed.
  • Perform the monitoring of the classified areas and support facilities during and after production or during recertification.
  • Aid management in investigations.
  • Train technicians in environmental monitoring and in process testing as required.
  • Follow Teva Safety, Health, and Environmental policies and procedures.
  • High School diploma required. AA degree/ course work in college Microbiology/related sciences preferred.
  • 1 year of GMP production experience required. Pharmaceutical, Food or Nutraceutical manufacturing industry experience preferred.
  • Microbiology background and experience preferred.
  • 1 Year of Aseptic Processing experience preferred. ISO 5 Gowning certification or experience strongly preferred.
  • Must be able to meet physical requirements of cleanroom including ability to stand for long periods of time, and bend and lift up to 25 lbs.
  • EM/QI experience is a plus.
