Job Description

The Director of Value, Evidence and Outcomes (VEO, Director) is a role reporting into US Medical Affairs. The VEO Director is responsible for working closely with Field Medical Affairs teams, US Medical Directors, Global Health Economics and Outcomes Research (GHEOR), Market Access, Marketing and Brand teams. The VEO Director will collaborate to ensure data generation for the value-based healthcare marketplace by developing and executing strategies that integrates US Payer landscape dynamics, health economics, real world evidence (RWE) and US market access solutions for assigned therapeutic areas.  Additionally, this role will enable generation of data to support value based contract (VBCs) discussions from the medical perspective. Duties and responsibilities include:

 

  • Plan, generate and deliver research to demonstrate the value, evidence and outcomes of select Teva products to payers, healthcare providers and patients.
  • Partner with multiple internal & external stakeholders to deliver results aligned to the business strategy.
  • Ensure US Medical and Market Access requirements are understood, and build value propositions and resources that reflect the needs of critical stakeholders.
  • Proactively identify and solve gaps in product value proposition utilizing innovative methods and approaches to think beyond current solutions.
  • Collaborate with Medical, GHEOR, Market Access and Brand to identify evidentiary requirements and potential barriers to access.
  • Serve as a leader for driving development and execution of strategic and tactical plan for the assigned therapeutic area.
  • Drive evidence generation from clinical programs and real-world evidence sources to substantiate and sustain product value proposition.
  • Partner with Medical Outcomes Liaisons and utilize key insights to ensure value messages are clearly cascaded and supported by appropriate tools and evidence.
  • Lead the planning and execution of value, economic and outcomes studies to support product Medical strategy.
  • Manage research activities that include but are not limited to burden of illness, retrospective database studies, value messaging, and interpretation of economic endpoints.
  • Serve as a member and contributor to various cross-functional teams, providing functional expertise, leadership, and actively contribute to the planning process.
  • Be accountable for the development, management and tracking of goals, objectives
  • and budgets.
Qualifications

Qualifications

 

  • Masters degree in Health Outcomes, Health Economics, Epidemiology, Pharmacy, health or sciences related field; MS, Pharm.D. or PhD preferred.
  • Minimum of 5+ years in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • 5+ years HEOR experience
  • Significant experience in health outcomes or life sciences.
  • Strong technical knowledge in key areas including economic modeling and observational studies.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Depth and breadth of experience to address external US payer environmental challenges, and develop value evidence generation strategies that will meet decision makers needs.
  • Ability to effectively lead and influence in a matrix team environment.
  • Highly experienced and familiar with US payer landscape, including formulary decision making process.
  • Strong understanding of pricing and reimbursement across multiple sites of care
  • Strategic thinker who can frame complex problems and articulate clear, data-driven recommendations
  • Sound organizational and project management skills which focus on delivery of results.
  • Proven ability to motivate and collaborate with both internal and external teams
  • Strong knowledge of planning and budgeting processes and practices
