Position Description:
POSITION PURPOSE
The purpose of this position is to provide strategic leadership and direction for MET's strategic growth plans. The Director, Strategic Initiatives will be responsible for the coordination, execution, and sustainability of strategic cross functional projects, initiatives, roll-outs, and leadership strategy meetings. The Director, Strategic Initiatives works closely with senior leaders and will have a good understanding of their functional requirements and approaches.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
30% Project Leadership, Develops an effective plan for controlling project scope, schedule, task assignment, budget and monitors project execution to ensure the plan is being followed
20% Communication, Develops an effective plan for communicating project information to teams and stakeholders. Develops written status reports and scorecards and presents review documents to sr. leadership. Collects and documents project issues and manages their timely resolution.
10% Environment, Shares responsibility with cross functional project leaders in promoting a good working environment. Ensures duties and responsibilities are understood by everyone and that an inclusive environment is maintained. Drives high morale by creating a climate where people are fully involved.
10% Key Meetings, Manage team responsible for planning and executing key meetings associated with projects. Attend and provide recaps, tracking and follow-up on action items to senior leaders.
30% PMO, Drives consistent program governance around MET pilots and projects, including performance metrics, risk management, relationships management with stakeholders, and ensuring appropriate change management practices are included in the project program.

Typically reports to Reports to Sr Dir Operations MET

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
Environment:
Located in a comfortable indoor area.
Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Travel:
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.



ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Education Required:
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

Years of Relevant Work Experience: 7 years

Physical Requirements:
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about.
On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

Additional Qualifications:
Proven experience developing and executing processes.

Ability to handle multiple deadlines and priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced and progressive environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
7+ years project management experience
Experience and knowledge of merchandising and store operations
Experience in the retail industry, multi site locations and MSOs
Certified Program Management Professional

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:
Demonstrated leadership and management skills.
Proven ability to manage positive business partnerships and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
Process-orientation; Analytical skills
Proven ability to communicate, in writing or verbally, to audiences at varied levels
Exceptional relationship building, influencing, communication, and presentation skills
Demonstrated ability to present complex terminology to diverse audiences at various levels (including executive leaders)
