As a Director of Product Development, you would be joining us during a time of transformation and growth in our Compliance Solutions (CoSo) group that touch a range of solutions that include tax, compliance, wage payments, wage garnishments, employment verification, W-2 management and much more. In this role, you will be a key part of the CoSo's Next Generation Tax Platform that lays the foundation for the company's tax compliance products for companies of all sizes. You will have the opportunity to lead a world class team of engineers and co-own the product vision, roadmap and design throughout the entire product development life cycle.

We are looking for someone who's had real world experience in delivering digital products at scale and talk intelligently about the problem statement, benefits, and the "why." As a R&D product development leader, we're not only interested in our technical aptitude and design solutions but your business acuity and customer-first approach as well. In this role, you will make positive contributions to strengthen our product that will allow ADP to continue to be the global HCM leader.

Join us in our Innovation Center located in the heart of Pasadena. Our office, commonly known as Studio55, has open workspaces designed for natural collaboration and idea sharing. We are the home to a variety of tech and product teams, all of which have strong identities and pride in what they do.



  • As a product development leader, you will have end-to-end responsibility and ownership for your assigned product areas. This entails understanding and conveying the vision to your team, flushing out a sound solution design, preparing a detailed plan, delivering the product with high level of operational excellence, and owning all the enhancements and defects associated with your product.
  • As an R&D leader, you will need to interact with key stakeholders that include product management, service associates and business partners. In addition, your ability to establish relationships and partnership with various stakeholders will greatly contribute to your success in this organization.
  • You are not just a manager but an effective and inspirational leader as well. You have a way of inspiring people and they want to work for you. You'll set clear goals and manage everyone's expectations so that it is not only challenging but rewarding as well. Ultimately, the goal is to ensure that your associates are highly engaged.
  • You are a strong partner and have experience working in a complex, matrix environment that include multiple stakeholders. You should be able to cater your conversations appropriately between business / non-technical audience (i.e. Product Management, Service & Operations leaders) and technical groups at ADP (i.e. Enterprise Architects, Global Security Organization, Infrastructure).
  • You have experience delivering B2B / B2C solutions that deliver best-in-class user experience and user interface design. Since you are working on a solution that impact the livelihood for millions of people, it is critical that you bring the customer's perspective and voice to the table and have real-world experience doing it.
  • With Operational Excellence being one of our key goals, it is critical that you manage project timelines, deployment and operational plans, and budget and ensure that business requirements are met with high quality.
  • Keep up to date on technological changes, especially with regard to job-related languages, operating systems, tools and methodologies. Stays current with skills required for job assignment and progression to further knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Serves as a member of the senior technical leadership team to guide technology strategy and approaches.
  • Leverage and integrate best practices for continuous process improvement.



  • 12+ years of relevant product development experience (preferably someone who an engineering / software development background)
  • 5+ years of leadership / people management experience leading highly skilled product development team
  • In depth experience in delivering highly trafficked digital products (B2C or B2B) from design to production.
  • Highly experienced in architecting, designing, and building applications / solutions that have scaled and leverage best-in-class technology to provide the world-class user experience (must provide real world examples that you've contributed to)
  • Experience working in globally distributed teams



  • Bachelor or Masters degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical discipline
