SUMMARY
Responsible for the management of existing portfolio of products, new product development and commercialization of the own brand program. Accountable for driving and enabling Own Brand portfolio business performance across sales, profit and penetration in collaboration and support of category management, merchandising, marketing and operations. Leads the development of the own brand short and long-term category strategies; including but not limited to total prioritization of portfolio business plans, performance improvement, annual new item planning & budgeting and the core components of the category go to market strategies (value, assortment, mix, merchandising, promo planning, etc.). Develops robust partnerships with suppliers and internal stakeholders, including Category Management, Merchandising, Marketing and Operations. Frequent independent judgments are essential. The incumbent is also required to perform all tasks in observance of Rite Aid’s brand and strategy and adhere to our core values and service attributes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned:

* | Collaborate with internal stakeholders to build strategic supplier relationships focused on short and long-term product development pipeline (new and renovation). | 10% |
* | Manage own brand supplier relationships, including directing top-to-top meetings, establishing supplier scorecards, performance metrics, long range plans, and collaborative opportunities. | 10% |
* | Oversee and influence all aspects of own brand management, including but not limited to product quality, product specification overall and financial performance, assortment and portfolio mix, value positioning and shelf placement. | 10% |
* | Provide overall direction of strategic initiatives by influencing and collaborating with cross. functional teams; gathering knowledge from relevant sources; analyzing the potential return on investment; developing assessments of key opportunities; documenting project scopes; developing long-range plans and project timelines; and providing updates and progress reports to senior leaders | 10% |
* | Responsible for product creation, development and commercialization. Collaborates with internal and external partners to determine product needs and determines resource allocation for product development | 10% |
* | Identifies white space opportunities across categories, inclusive of consumer needs and insight mining | 10% |
* | Direct a high-performing, customer-centric team. Selects, coaches, motivates, conducts performance evaluations, and identifies development and growth opportunities. | 10% |
* | Develops associates through coaching, mentoring, performance management, talent management, and succession planning | 10% |
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position directly supervises Own Brand Manager, Own Brand Business Analyst, Own Brand Merchandising Coordinator, and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Rite Aid policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, directing, rewarding, and disciplining associates; appraising associate performance; and resolving complaints.
The typical starting pay range for this position is between $136,400 - $176,100 annually, although wages can very based on experience and geography.

To perform this job successfully, the associate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required:
Education and/or Experience
* | Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) Businss, Marketing, Finance or related degree required. |
* | 10 years of experience in leading in retail private brands, merchandising, and/or buying required. |
* | 7 years of experience in understanding retail from a business perspective and a thorough understanding of sourcing, product development and commercialization. required. |
