Job Description

The primary responsibility is to lead a team of Medical Information Specialists in their support of medical information and communication for assigned products marketed by TEVA Pharmaceutical USA Generic Medicines by providing prompt, accurate, and scientifically and medically balanced responses to unsolicited medically-related inquiries from internal and external customers. The responsible individual will collaborate with other Medical Affairs colleagues and work closely with key members of internal departments including Pharmacovigilance, Quality Assurance, Marketing Communications, Regulatory Affairs, Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy (REMS) / Registry Programs to provide medical support for development, implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of ongoing medically-related activities related to TEVA Pharmaceutical USA marketed product(s). All policies, Standard Operating Procedures, work instructions and related documents should be followed accordingly.

  • Supervise the activities of internal Medical Information team members in support of Teva Generic Medicines
  • Provide oversight and guidance to external Medical Information Contact Center vendor staff and their management
  • Ensure quality of the work product delivered is done in an accurate, timely, and courteous manner, and in accordance with Teva Pharmaceuticals policies, procedures and work instructions
  • Assign tasks in a fair manner to allow all members in the Medical Information group an opportunity to increase their knowledge, provide a path for professional growth and improvement by participating in projects.
  • Motivate people to do the best job possible. Be positive, empathetic, and a positive role model, reflecting Tevas values in day-to-day activities
  • Ensure the Medical Information Department provides a professional, positive environment where people want to come to work and do the best job they possibly can, in support of Teva Pharmaceuticals goals and objectives
  • Conduct interim and annual evaluations of staff members; provide coaching and feedback, as needed, throughout the year
  • Review and approve documents and references, Teva USA Marketing promotions to comply with FDA 21 CFR 202.1 and Warning Letters published by FDA. Be a final authority in document approval process when required
  • Participation in cross-functional meetings and subcommittees: attend meetings, review and help create reports, and evaluate programs via live meetings or conference calls This document has been electronically signed, UTC time Related SOP
  • Act as a key resource for Medical Affairs and other Teva employees
  • Create departmental monthly reports on contact volume and metrics
  • Provide oversight and direction on the development of departmental processes and work instructions in collaboration with Medical Information management and external Contact Center management
  • Provide oversight and direction in conducting regular continuous quality improvement activities of Contact Center IRMS Case Entries for Generic Medicines to assure accuracy of response, compliance with Teva policies, procedures, and work instructions, and for identification of training needs, FAQ development or enhancement, and email template development or enhancement
  • Provide ongoing support and training of external Contact Center staff
