Director of Customer Lifecycle Marketing

The Director of Customer Lifecycle Marketing (CLM) is responsible for building campaigns that appeal to our target customers segments. The person in this role will partner with our Marketing and Customer Experience Center of Excellence (COE) to understand target customers wants and needs, develop a point of view on what messages will resonate with target customers, build campaigns, and work with marketing vehicle owners to activate those campaigns. Finally, the Director of CLM will develop performance metrics, evaluate campaign performance, and adjust strategy accordingly. The role is focused on Staples.com and has two teams that report into it Acquisition and Customer Development (Retention).

**Key Job Responsibilities:**

+ Understand target customer segments wants and needs

+ Develop a point of view on the messages that will resonate with target customers

+ Build campaigns that appeal to target customers

+ Partner with marketing channel owners to activate campaigns

+ Identify performance metrics for campaigns, evaluate efficacy

+ Test, learn, iterate

+ Coach and develop teammates, including building bench strength and succession

+ Build an organizational structure that maximizes talent development and results

**Qualifications :**

**Required Qualifications:**

+ 10 years leadership experience, including coaching and developing teams

+ 15 years of Marketing experience within an eCommerce environment, particularly focused on customer relationship marketing and program execution within a test and learn framework

+ 15 years of ROI experience; i.e., developing performance metrics, measuring results, modifying strategies and tactics accordingly

**Preferred Competencies:**

+ Bachelors Degree

+ Experience leveraging customer insights to make customer-oriented decisions

+ Excellent financial, analytical, and strategy skills

+ Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines while flexibly adapting to the business changing needs

+ Excellent verbal, written, and communication skills

+ Demonstrated ability to partner and influence cross-functionally

+ Aptitude to effectively interact with stakeholders, including executive leadership

+ Leadership skills including coaching and mentoring others, and building an effective team
