As a Senior Manager, you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. PwC Professional skills and responsibilities for this management level include but are not limited to:

The Development Project Sr Manager will primarily be responsible for project management across multiple software development work streams.They will create a culture where Agile methodology is understood both inside the Scrum Team and within the organization. They will coach and influence at all levels to promote increased business agility, stable Scrum team velocity, predictability, innovation and quality, and remove team impediments to ensure sprint goals are met.

In lieu of a Bachelor Degree, 12 years of professional experience involving technology-focused process improvements, transformations, and/or system implementations

Demonstrates extensive abilities and/or a proven record of success in managing software development projects by partnering with product owners, development teams, and key customers/stakeholders in the following areas:

  • Leading and coaching the team in Agile adoption;
  • Applying agile methodology to identify, escalate, and remove team impediments that jeopardize success;
  • Defining external metrics that help the organization understand the value delivered;
  • Communicating shared vision while fostering transparency and visibility;
  • Coaching/Mentoring Team, Scrum Masters, Product Owners, Leadership on Agile values and principles, and various Agile approaches (Scrum, Kanban and scaling framework);
  • Influencing project team members to identify and address project issues, including leadership and interdependent teams, and to promote self-directed teams by enabling open, transparent and clear communications;
  • Establishing the root causes of issues and tackling them, rather than just addressing the symptoms;
  • Move easily between big picture thinking and managing relevant detail;
  • Teaching and coaching teams to adopt continuous delivery practices and other lean/agile modeling techniques;
  • Collaborating with all team and vendor project resources on projects of a complex or mission critical nature;
  • Escalating and proactively mitigating risks; and,
  • Tracking tasks through delivery.

Demonstrates extensive abilities and/or a proven record of success as a team leader in delivering projects and providing hands-on execution when needed to help teams and overall programs by:

  • Driving the scrum cadence;
  • Promptly resolving issues/roadblocks;
  • Driving estimation and planning process;
  • Facilitating in prioritization of tasks and planning iterations;
  • Reporting statuses, agile metrics;
  • Demonstrating clear communication in order to align product backlogs across workstreams to eliminate duplicity and maintain consistency that aligns with strategic objectives overall;
  • Understanding thoroughly the Scrum framework, Scrum values, Agile mindset, principles and values with the ability to train others in its subtleties;
  • Facilitating Sprint events (i.e. Retrospectives);
  • Understanding how to create and maintain the product backlog, and finding techniques for effective product backlog refinement and management;
  • Understanding product planning in an empirical, enterprise environment;
  • Creating a positive and entrepreneurial work environment;
  • Building trust with teams and stakeholders through open and honest conversation;
  • Building and maintaining thorough relationships at all internal and external levels while effectively navigating a complex matrixed organization;
  • Communicating effectively to articulate ideas, actions and outcomes with teams and management;
  • Leveraging deep agile expertise to set up agile execution framework for teams to learn and adopt; and,
  • Operating as a digital solution thinker who brings thought leadership on digitally enabled business transformation ideas.
