Position Description:
POSITION PURPOSE
The Creative Services Video Producer is responsible for overseeing, leading, and managing projects associated with The Home Depot s How-To Series (comprised of DIY Projects, Product Videos, Buying Guides and Style Inspiration Guides) and ad hoc departmental/merchant/vendor partnership videos. The videos are showcased on THD s website and sometimes social media channels. This individual must have video production experience and the ability to manage and oversee all phases, aspects, and sides of production: concepting, pre-production, field production, post production and publishing/delivery. Previous creative or technical experience with storytelling, editing, after effects or camera work a plus. The CSVP will navigate and collaborate within multiple internal cross functional teams as well as third party vendors such as creative agencies and/or production partners. The CSVP will aim to maximize content creation capabilities and timelines in an effort to drive customer engagement in a modern and informative format.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • 25% - Critical Thinking: Think outside the box. The goal is to have the answers readily available for our customers so that we drive their engagement with our online video content. Fresh ideas and actionable new ways of thinking to achieve this goal are imperative for our own evolution. Ability to think strategically.
  • 25% - Project Leadership: Establish self as project leader and single point of truth for the project lifecycle. Shepherd internal & external stakeholders through THD's production process. Individual is proactive and holds other stakeholders/team members accountable in an effort to drive project forward. Excels at being the gatekeeper who controls the flow of information. Must be a natural a collaborator by pulling in the right people to execute strategy and goals of the project.
  • 25% - Problem Solving: Know how to use your resources to course correct or stay on track.
  • 25% - Provide Recommendations: Use industry experience, best practices, innovative/cutting edge technology and tools to proactively provide internal stakeholders and peers with options and recommendations for project execution.

This position reports to the Sr. Manager Online Content Strategy.

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
Environment:
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Travel:
Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 20% of the time.


ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Education Required:

The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

Years of Relevant Work Experience: 5 years
Physical Requirements:
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 7+ years experience as a Video Producer 
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Ability to negotiate, handle complaints, settle disputes, and resolve grievances with both internal and external customers
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Prior video production and post production experience
  • Versatile, nimble thinker
  • Knowledgeable of video technology, formats, and the various video channels and platforms leveraged for paid and earned media
  • Experience in producing video content with a storytelling component
  • Ability to organize multiple projects across many business situations and personality types
  • Detail oriented
