A career in Office of General Counsel, within Internal Firm Services, will provide you with the opportunity to be a part of the Firms legal department by providing dedicated legal support in the areas of litigation, counselling, and corporate, commercial, and employment law. Youll play an important part in all aspects of regulatory proceedings involving the Firm and its personnel by supporting on regulatory issues, advising the Firm on matters relating to its operations, supporting the Firms client contracting function, and advising on matters related to employees.As part of our team, youll help with researching background information related to legal issues and prepare legal documents. Youll focus on drafting contracts or legal agreements, retaining files of prepared legal documents, and coordinating requests between internal and external counsel.

The attorney in this role will advise on a wide array of matters related to the development and deployment of various global applications across the PwC Network. Will provide counseling and commercial support as required by PwC Network and member firm leadership regarding application development and deployment.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

Demonstrates intimate abilities and/or a proven record of success in:

  • Understanding and investigating legal issues, negotiating with member firms, developing guidance and corresponding documentation and communications, and formulating views about the potential impact of recent regulatory and legislative changes;
  • Providing legal advice, often on a time-sensitive basis, to senior leadership, project teams, and technologists, on legal related matters concerning development and deployment of global applications;
  • Identifying and addressing highly complex legal issues involving significant risk and requiring application of seasoned judgment;
  • Knowing when support is needed from other experienced professionals in the organization and/or from outside counsel;
  • Collaborating and effective teaming, including with other attorneys (e.g., subject matter specialists), global functions (e.g., risk management, procurement), and project teams;
  • Developing guidance and documentation related to the development, deployment, and support of global applications;
  • Providing legal assistance and guidance to address territories concerns regarding the use of global applications;
  • Understanding global perspective, handling international matters, and dealing with colleagues in foreign jurisdictions;
  • Working with diverse business cultures and often competing perspectives;
  • Building consensus, even for difficult or unpopular courses of action, necessitated by legal or regulatory requirements;
  • Preparing presentations and communications for diverse stakeholders on technology matters; and,
  • Negotiating with different parties with respect to legal and technology issues.

Preferred Qualifications:

Degree Preferred:
Juris Doctorate

Additional Educational Preferences:

Demonstrating extensive experience with complex technology-related legal matters and issues. Intellectual property, licensing, technology transactions, data privacy and protection, information governance, and technology deployment experience highly desirable.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills:

Demonstrates intimate abilities and/or a proven record of success in the following areas:

  • Understanding intellectual property law;
  • Understanding technology transactions, e.g., licensing, services agreements, alliance/joint business relationship agreements;
  • Understanding data protection and privacy law, including European Union requirements;
  • Understanding technology, including cloud-based technologies and emerging technologies, and trends; and,
  • Working in an international environment and on cross-border legal issues.
