Job Description

Teva Pharmaceuticals is looking to fill a Cost Accounting Manager in Salt Lake City, Utah. This position is responsible for improving and maintains TEVA SLC costing and inventory accounting system in alignment with various strategic initiatives. You will extensively partner with facility managers and directors to ensure systems, data, and reporting are accurate. The Cost Accounting Manager will serve as the point person for the Finance Department on multiple cross-functional systems and continuous improvement projects.  In addition, this dynamic role requires an energetic, forward-thinking and highly motivated individual with superior problem-solving abilities.


Job Responsibilities & Duties: 


All areas of responsibility listed below are essential to the satisfactory performance of this position by any incumbents with reasonable accommodation if necessary. Any non-essential functions are assumed to be included in other related duties or assignments.

 Act as a subject matter expert on costing and inventory modules within SAP, explore and offer solutions and best practices
 Perform control and analysis of job costing
 Inventory Management (Inventory Cycle; Variance Measurement and Reporting; Variance Capitalization; Write-Offs, LCM and Valuation) Work with the purchasing and sales team to validate costs and support business quoting activity
 Support  AOP and LBE plans and period close (month/quarter including audit and certification)
 Analyze actual manufacturing costs and preparing periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs
 Partner with FP&A team on cost modeling, profitability analysis, forecasting and budgeting initiatives
 Maintain relationships with business partners and finance peers to address information reporting needs.
 Develop and publish reporting deliverables for internal and external reporting requirement


 Requires Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting or Finance. Preferably accounting.
 Minimum of 5 years of experience in a cost accounting capacity required; preferably in the pharmaceutical manufacturing or a related industry.
 Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing experience with standard costing required.


 Exceptional understanding of the manufacturing environment and the associated financial processes. Knowledge of supply chain, receiving, inventory flow, operations process and manufacturing principles.
 Ability to communicate effectively financial information and concepts to management and non-financial personnel.
 Excellent analytical skills with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
 Strong understanding of US GAAP and SOX.
 Highly advanced Excel skills and experience working with and implementing ERP systems.
 Requires working knowledge in Financial/GL Systems, preferably SAP and Hyperion.
 Detail oriented with ability to analyze information and connect to corresponding performance metrics.
 Self-directed with ability to organize and prioritize work.
 Ability to work with ambiguity.
 Ability to effectively handle multiple competing priorities and manage deadlines under pressure.
 Communicate effectively with excellent written and oral communication skills.
 Interact positively and collaborate with co-workers, management and external partners.
 Project management and advanced presentation skills preferred.
