Job Summary

The College of Pharmacy is seeking a full-time financial analyst to join our (CBO) centralized business operations at the University of Kentucky.

This position will perform monthly account reconciliations, assist the CFO with the colleges annual budget, expense projections and the year-end closing schedule, provide ad-hoc financial reports, process a variety of financial transactions, manage the document flow of transactions processed by the centralized business operations, and serve as back-up support for the centralized business operations staff. Specifically, the financial analysts main job responsibilities include the following:

Performs monthly account reconciliations for (350+) accounts. In conjunction with the CFO and immediate supervisor, ensures an effective system of internal controls surrounds reconciliation activities to satisfy COP financial objectives. Maintains compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, restrictions and sponsor guidelines. Resolves all account discrepancies discovered during the monthly account reconciliations.

Certifies the reconciliations and maintains all financial records in accordance with university record retention policies. Effectively communicates COPs policies and procedures relating to reconciliation activities within the college.

Assists the CFO with the colleges annual budget, expense projections and the year-end closing schedule. Provides ad-hoc financial reports and contributes to various annual productivity reports for both internal and external constituencies. Projects funds availability facilitating oversight on college accounts.

Processes journal vouchers, budget transfers, and revisions. Provides excellent customer service recognizing the needs of faculty, staff, students and external units. Responsible for expanding professional knowledge through training, classes and seminars of UK policies, procedures and systems to better serve others, external units, and UK.

Ability to successfully complete tasks within set deadlines; ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing with internal and external constituencies; predisposition toward accuracy and attention to detail; a high level of professionalism and ability to work well in a demanding job environment.

Preferred Education/Experience

Preferably within a higher education context: experience in business procedures and/or financial accounting functions.
