Job Description

Embark on a future with an international pharmaceuticals company, contributing your creative energy to high-impact projects from the moment you arrive through the course of this 10-week experience. You will take part in meaningful work and real-life projects that will help you grow both professionally and personally throughout the program.  You will assist in providing assay support for ongoing research projects. As well as participating in the development and validation of ligand binding assays and there use in evaluation of test compounds. 

 

  • Location:  Onsite at our West Chester, PA campus
  • Length: 10 weeks May through August 2021
  • Schedule: You must be available to work a 40-hour work week for 10 weeks summer 2021
  • Pay: $15 per hour

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • During the 12 week program, you will gain in-depth insights into the Specialty Research and Development department.
  • Supported by a mentor and experienced colleagues, you will be directly involved in our daily business and be assigned tasks within diverse projects.
  • Conducts laboratory experiments according to established protocols under the direction of a supervisor.
  • Accurately records data and results in laboratory notebook.
  • Communicates results to supervisor.
  • Analyze experimental data using applicable instrument software and spreadsheets, performs basic statistical analyses, graphs data and prepare slides for scientific presentations.
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of work area and follows all established safety practices.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
  • Attend training courses as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program of study in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biology or related life sciences.
  • Junior/Senior level preferred. (Not graduating in Spring 2021)
  • Fundamental chemistry/biology lab course work completed. 
  • Basic knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Time management and communication skills are a must.
