**Position Overview**









Staples is a privately owned, $8.5B distributor to
medium and large sized customers. Staples distributes all the essentials that
businesses need, including: office supplies, furniture, facilities supplies,
janitorial & break room products, technology products, printing services,
and promotional products. Staples provides customer specific pricing, and with such
a wide product assortment the Associate Product Manager will play a key role in
optimizing product selection during the bid process as well as other pricing
activities. In this role, you will work on major initiatives aimed at
reinventing the way we manage and use product data in our pricing processes and
beyond.









This
role resides on a team focused on pricing systems, tools, and analytics geared
at helping serve the greater pricing and sales organizations. The current team
makeup is a mix of members with experience in technology, project/product
management, data visualization, and data analytics.

candidate will be comfortable navigating large, complex datasets to uncover patterns,
developing solutions and enhancements, and being able communicate progress to
stakeholders.

+ Communicates effectively (in English) both written and oral, withstrong interpersonal skills










**Qualifications**

**Basic Qualifications:**



+ Bachelors Degree required (concentration in analytical- and/or financial-based areas such as business, economics, math, or statistics desirable)

+ At least 6 years of previous work experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis

+ Excellent computer skills (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, SQL)

+ Strong communication skills, both oral and written

+ Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proven critical thinking skills

+ Able to work effectively with teams in various functional areas and across multiple locations



**Preferred Qualifications:**



+ Technical project experience with developing systems documentation, data dictionaries/libraries

+ Experience working and applying agile methodologies

+ Prior experience working for a Distributor or other industries with large product assortments
